The Walnut Orchard

De  Walnut orchard consists of 177 walnut trees on 3 ha. The trees were 4 year old when planted  at the end of 2019. We have chosen 9 varieties for diversity in size, taste, crackability, oil content and flowering period. The varieties are: Buccanneer, Coenen, Rote Donau, Lange van Lod, Aufhauser Baden, Broadview, Bella Maria, Plovdiski and Junglans Nr. 16. We have sown herb-rich grass under the trees to attract as many insects as possible. Our educational insect path runs between the trees and we have placed 6 cabanas where guests can spend the night between the walnut trees and the herb-rich grass. There are also 4 camper pitches in the walnut orchard.
